When I was in 1st grade I was only able to read on the preschooler level and i couldn't see very well so that summer I had to go to summer school with a few other kids who couldn't read well either. They soon found out that I was in dyer need of glasses. When I went to go and get my eyes fitted for glasses they saw that I had a very mild tracking problem. In the end I was able to read a lot better and am now a pretty good reader but I still have the tracking problem but it hasn't slown me down one bit.

There’s only one really BIG secret of the real world that I could think of… what’s really at Area 51? I definitely don’t believe in aliens or life forms from another planet. The media and government has often taught us to think outside the box and do the unimaginable; but, what is the purpose of holding such a huge secret from the entire world? I mean, if the government really wants attention, why don’t they do something remarkable like sending millions of pounds of food and water to the Middle East? If Area 51 really has aliens inside a secret building, what’s the magic behind all that power controlling that vicinity? Hundreds, even thousands of novels and films have been created on what different beliefs are on this phenomenon and they all lead to the same thing, aliens. I think that someday the public will want to know the truth behind Area 51. Even if it means that we find out that it was just a region in southern Nevada highly protected by the US Military, it would be a good secret to tell.

Emmit Smith had a broken collar bone in the superbowl but acted like it didn't hurt so he could keep playing. He kept it a secret because if anyone else knew about it then he wouldn't be able to play the rest of game. Emmit Smith got power from this secret because he got to keep playing but he also got peril because it hurt.

Richard Nixon was the keeper of a secret that would originally provide him with power but ended up causing him peril. I don't know a whole lot about the Watergate Scandal, but my basic understanding is that he secretly had people steal important papers from a Democratic building. This secret gave him the potential to promote himself as President. Unfortunately, the crooks were eventually caught, and through them, he was narrowed down to be the planning suspect. Rather than face humility, he resigned as President, so the secret caused him peril, opposite to its intentions.

When i was in 2nd grade, my older sister and i were playing around the house. My mom had this cookie jar that she told us to never touch because it was given to her by her grandma and was really important. My sister was running through the kitchen and accediently hit the cookie jar off the counter and it broke into peices. We both got scared and she told me to never tell my mom about it or she would get in a lot of trouble. I kept this secret from my mom so my sister would stay out of trouble. My mom didnt find out about this until about 2 years ago.

The first real world secret that I thought of was the assassination John F. Kennedy, our thirty-fifth president. I believe that someone must have known something about that day when Kennedy driving through Dallas, Texas in a motorcade. The government told us that Lee Harvey Oswald was the killer of our president, although this subject is under widespread speculation, due to contrary beliefs. So who actually killed our thirty-fifth president? Someone must be or was holding a large and grave secret about what happened that day. This secret would cause great peril to the person who was keeping it because if this secret got out they might put themselves or another person in deep trouble with the government. This secret also gives the holder power because no one else knows what happened that day.

Last semester, our class read Fahrenheit 451. There is a good example of having a secret and facing peril. The main character, Montag, was a fireman and wasn’t supposed to have any books because they were considered illegal. Montag had a secret place where he kept books in his house. If someone else figured out that Montag was hiding books, his house would have been burned, he would have been fired from his job, and everyone would think badly of him.

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the government kept the secret of how many ships, planes, and personnel were damaged and killed in the attack. The reports about the 8 battleships, 1 minelayer, 3 destroyers, and 3 cruisers damaged and the 2,388 casualties were not released to the public. This gave the government a power with the secret and protected the people from keeping it from the people. This protected the people because if the knew about the less navy force in the Pacific, they would have been even more scared about the Japanese attack on the mainland America and they would lose there morale. In the end, this secret was only power to the government and no peril to hurt them.

There is one secret that came to mind when I was asked to write about secret. This secret turned into peril. My friend told me when I was in seventh grade and she was a freshman in high school that she had an eating disorder. She made me swear that I wouldn't tell anyone. I was definitely in a dilemma because yes, I promised a good friend I wouldn’t tell anyone this secret would really turn into peril and my friend good get seriously hurt or even die from it.

A secret that I held for a good amount of time is when my friend and I were playing in the basement and when playing dodge ball when I threw a big ball at my friend and missed, only to hit my parent’s Waterford crystal glasses they got for the marriage. My parents had always told me how important the glasses were to them and how expensive they were. Also my dad told me never to play dodge ball in the basement for that exact reason. I was extremely guilty and worried my parents were going to find out and be very mad and disappointed. I was so guilty that I could barely sleep at night. The secret turned to peril when I no longer could sleep form the guilt. Finally I told my parents and they were not to mad surprisingly so from then on I told them about most of the bad stuff I did.

There is one secret that really sticks out to me, because it has to do with one of my fellow class mates. A long time ago in a land not to far from here I and Daniel Mercier went to the same Elementary school. In the fourth grade our class was being persecuted with the accusation that one of us wrote in toilet paper on the bathroom wall. The teachers said once they find out who did it, that individual would be in serious trouble. I off course went snooping around and found out Daniel Mercier was the culprit. Off course I was the only one who knew, so I was able to bend Daniel Mercier to my will. If he didn't do what I told him to do, I would tell the teachers that Daniel was the one who desecrated the schools bathroom facility. This secret gave me great power

For the purpose of this essay, I will discuss Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. In the book, George held power by telling his boss on the farm that he and Lennie were cousins. This gave him an excuse for keeping Lennie around, even with his mental illness. This gave Lennie power because he was able to keep his job, even with Lennie around. This later puts the two in peril because the boss nearly finds out about their lies.

The book Davinci Code was about the protection and conservatioin of secrets that would shake the very foundation of life as we know it. The immense power of the secret of jesus christ brought to them was extrordinary however they were also periled by the numerous attacks against them in order to stop them finding the entire truth.

Last Year I asked my mom if I could wear her ring for the day. It was a very expensive ring but she didnt wear the ring that often. She was hesitant to let me wear it but she did anyway. That day i had swimming class, and i didnt want to wear it in the pool because i thought that would ruin it. I took it off and set it in my locker and when i came back from swimming it was gone. I couldn't find it. I was so sad and scared that my mom would be furious with me. I didnt know what my consequences would be. I was afraid of the trouble and peril that i would be in if she ever knew. Surprisingly to this day she still doesnt know where her ring is and i hope she never finds out that i lost it.

In the book series Artemis Fowl, by Eion Colfer, Artemis knows a very huge secret about an entirely different species of fairies, who live below ground. They are creatures of antiquity, and have some very advanced methods including the knowledge of magic. This gives Artemis great power over many people.

During World War II, a secretive project was held to create the atomic bomb, called the Manhattan Project. At the time, this project was a complete secret to almost everyone besides the government and people involved in this project. When the secret was discovered by the citizens, and the bomb was dropped on Japan, the result was terrible peril for the Japanese. It may have given the US much power, but the result was a complete tragedy and a human disaster.

One secret that is out in the open now but was hidden for a long time was the Pete Rose gambling scandal that cost him his career. Pete Rose bet on his baseball team while he played for them and didn't get caught till he managed the same team.

A large real world government secret is that of Fort Knox. Does the gold really exist, and if in fact it does, how much is there? The secrecy surrounding Fort Knox, if anything has grown, as time has gone on. It seems that no one truly knows what happens, or is held behind the vault doors, and those who work there aren’t there for long, due to the risk of them finding out too much. Also is it true that the constitution was held there, along with the crown jewels of England? The public may never know for sure. The keeper of this secret, who ever it may be has great power over all who desire to know what lies behind those walls. However this secret is also a large source of peril, especially after the end of World ‘War II, in the 70s, when there was a huge demand to see what was actually inside Fort Knox. This secret also caused peril, because of the threat it brought to the United States from foreign countries, looking to bomb the fort and collect our countries supposed “national treasure”

Fictional- In the movie "National Treasure-Book of
secrets" there is a myth that the presidents have a
secret book that is passed on from president to
president containing all the big events and secrets of
America's history. The only person who knows if the
book is real or fake and where it is located is the
current president.

This is a power because he can either keep everything
to himself or share with the world all of America's
darkest secrets. The only peril that would be
committed is if the president himself told where it
was. People would be able to figure out what the
government is hiding from us, terrorist could find
weak spots in our history and backfire with them, and
the president holds all of that trouble/power in his
own hands.

One public secret I thought of was that restaurants have
different recipes for the same foods. For example Ted’s Montana Grill
cooks an excellent cheeseburger because of a secret method or recipe
that they have. But if you compare them to McDonald’s the burgers taste
completely different even though they are both burgers. Having a secret
like this one would be beneficial, because a better burger satisfies
costumers, and having satisfied customers will eventually cause the
restaurants profit to increase. Thus making it a powerful secret, giving
the wielder power instead of peril.

When we watch cinematic adventures, what is it that entices us? What is it that makes films so interesting. Because in all movies, there is a secret, and we are drawn to it. Like in the movie Batman Begins, you never really know till the climax, who is the real mastermind to the situation. We find out that it was the man who trained batman. He was never mentioned after his use of training him for that purpose. So that you would forget about him.

I think that one of the most dangerous and powerful secret is how to make an atomic bomb. Many countries wish they had this weapon and are willing to pay a lot for it. The countries that aleady own the secret have a lot more power. For instance, a country that does not have atomic bombs would not go to war or even anger a country with atomic bombs. Also they might plead that country for the secret and be incredibly nice to that country. The secret was definately more powerful during the WW2 and the cold war but are still powerful because there are still a handful of countries that do not have the atomic bomb secret.

When I was in the fith grade i was playing in one of my baseball games and I got hit by a pitch on the outside of my arm. It hurt right away but I kept it to myself because i didn't want to come out of the game. A few days after the game my arm was still hurting and i had a pretty good size bump. i Went and played four games before i told anyone because i didnt want to miss any games. I soon found out it was broken when i finallywent to the doctors. i didnt miss a game of my season though and it made me feel alot better about the whole thing.
