What are you curious about?

In class the past couple of days, you have been brainstorming about topics that pique your curiosity. Now, please share some of your ideas with the rest of the class via the blog. Write about one or two intriguing questions. Don't just ask or list the questions; explain your interest. You might also want to read the ideas posted on the 5th period blog at tsalefive0708.blogspot.com.

I am curious about many things, but one thing that is really mind boggling is whether or not we will live in under water. I think we will live under water because if are population gets to large then we will need more space so we will start turning to other places to live. Some say we will live on mars. Some even say we will live on the moon. But I say that those theories are foolish. Under sea level is where our future lies. We could have huge bubbles filled with plants and more slightly smaller bubbles surrounding it. This way oxygen can be distributed through out thy under water experience. It also could be a wonderful sea adventure with submarines and scuba diving or even just looking at the view of blue water.

One of the things I am curious about is the future. What will the future hold for us? Will we have robots to do our homework, brush our teeth, and clean our house? It’s hard to visualize these things but I am sure that the colonials did not believe that someday we would have cell phones or microwaves. Our technology has become so exceedingly vivid that almost anything can be masterminded in the upcoming society. I believe that in fact we will have robots that will help us do everyday chores and activities around the house. No one will know for sure what inventions lay ahead in the future so we will have to wait and see!

One thing I’ve always been curious on is human behavior. Why do people do the things they do and say the things they say? Why do some things trigger certain people but not others? I don’t think anyone really understands why they do/say some of the things that they do. I know that some of it depends on the way you were raised and your environment but what else comes into play? Humans are very complicated things, it would be nice to be able to completely figure them out.

There have been a lot things that I have been curious about this summer but there is one thing that has peaked my curiosity the Bourne Ultimatum movie. Because this is the last one in the serious of a great series of movies and from what I have heard this is the one where the final character finally learns his true identity, I am very curious to see what his true identity is. That is what i have beem the most curious about this summer.

I am very curious about religion. Religion has fascinated me for a very long time. I would love to take a “comparative religions” course sometime in the future. I like learning about what people believe and why. I would like to find out more about how it affects people in positive and negative ways, and how it affects the political system.

I am also very curious about politics. I love learning about the political systems of various countries and how they are influenced by various social factors such as religion.

A huge conflict that I have been interested in lately is animals and global warming. I have always been an animal lover and I think global warming is a huge deal! In Antarctica polar bears, penguins and other animals like that can’t live in there own environment anymore because all the ice is melting and polar bears and penguins can’t live in only water they need land to. I think we need to stop being the selfish humans we are and do more about it get rid of hummers and big cars lower the price of hybrid so we can all buy them, recycle everything we can, because we are ruining our planet and maybe it wont effect us but, it will effect our kids and grandkids. So let’s make the difference.

I’m curious what it would be like to live on an island; no one bothering you and nothing to worry about, other than to wear sunscreen that day or not. I wonder what it would be like falling asleep listening to the smooth crash of the waves hit the sand. I marvel what it would be like to always be able to go to the beach, surfing whenever I wish and have my own mind to think out of. I wonder if I would go crazy being on an island all the time with no one telling me how to live my life or what I should and shouldn’t do. I wonder if being away from the outside world would rid me from all of my worries. All that there would be on the island would be myself and the world around me. Maybe a couple friends, who knows? But, if I could live on an island; I wonder if having everything I’ve ever wanted wasn’t enough. I wonder if being surrounded by water wouldn’t be enough for my hopes and dreams. I marvel what it would be like to live on an island.

What makes a car the price it is sold for on the market? When you look at a Ford F150 and look at Lincoln’s model which is the same truck but has a slightly different interior and a different grill and logo but the price on the Lincoln is almost 10 to 15 grand more than the F150. When a buyer is going out to buy a truck why would they buy a truck that is much more expensive when they could get the same truck for a lot cheaper. Another example is a Mercedes Benz; this brand of car has cars that price from the bottom all the way up to SLR which goes for three quarters of a million dollars. Put your self in the shoes of a person who is looking for a car that has luxury and power and can fit your entire family in. You may want buy a S class, this class of Benz has a scale from a 430 all the way up to a 63. These numbers are the size of engine. This brand of car is priced for not the logo but the engine and what type of bells and whistles the car comes with.

I am curious about hurricanes. They are the worst natural disasters in my book because it causes; flooding, strong winds, lightning, and small tornadoes. The thing I do not get is that your supposed to go underground for the strong winds and tornadoes part, but what do you do when it starts flooding and your underground? You will drown for sure. So if I was ever in a hurricane I would not know where to go. I think that is why so many deaths occur.

I am curious about space. Space is a very mysterious place that I don’t know a whole lot about. So I have some questions about space like where does it end if it even has an end to it, and is there other life forms out there or are we the only one? Well I think if the solar system never ends then there has to be other life forms. And I would like to know what it fells like to be in space? So that’s what I am curious about.

I’m very curious about the solar system. I don’t understand how it goes on forever and never ends. Also I don’t understand how all the planets stay up in the solar system with all the weight of the planets. It’s weird how anything can float in space. There has always been a controversy of whether there is life on other planets. It would be really weird if there was another source of life other than ours on other planets. Also it’s odd to think about how the sun can be so big that it is seen around the whole world at one time. I’m very curious about these things and would like to learn more about them.

I am curious about life on Mars. There are many clues that humans have discovered that could lead us to believe that there is life on Mars. There have been sights of water and imprints of living things. If there was life on Mars how would this affect our planet? How would we be able to communicate with them? Would we be enemies or friends? I think if there was life on Mars they would introduce our planet to many new things and advance us in technology. We would also be able to help them with things too. We would learn about a whole different lifestyle. I think life on Mars would affect our planet in a positive way.

I am curious about the specific name for shoe lace tips. I know that there is a specific name for shoe lace tips, because it was in a word problem in my math book in the seventh grade. I have always wanted to remember what they were called because that is a neat and unique little fact to know.
I have always wondered how many specific colors the human eye can see. There are so many beautiful and vibrant colors I have just wanted to know how many I can see. The eye is an amazing thing and I would like to know how it works.

I am curious about a lot of topics, but I would like to know the most about music. I want to know how it all came to be what it is today. I want to know about composition and why instruments are in different keys. How do chords work and why do certain notes not fit with certain chords? How did scales come to be? Who figured all of this out? I would like to learn as much as I can about music.

I am curious about what type of jobs will be easily available after college. The market and world are constantly changing as technology gets more advanced and I want to know what jobs will be good to have in the future and what to study in college. I think the best new jobs are going to be available in either the medicine or technology industry. Everything is constantly changing with updates and I think it will be like that for a long time. I think that a job dealing with new technology would be very exciting and advanced.

I am curious about my future because I want to know what I will succeed in and how my life will turn out. At the moment, I have a few ideas of how I would like for my future to be. My first idea of what I would like to do in the future is to go to a college here in Colorado and swim for it as well. Other curiosities that I have about my future are what I am going to take in college. I think that I might like to become a massage therapist or a veterinarian, but I can’t decide which one I would like to be the most. I also can’t help but wonder if I’ll find something other than those two ideas that I would prefer doing instead. Where I go to college after I graduate from Arapahoe, if I’ll succeed in swimming and be able to swim in college, and what I will take in college are my main curiosities.

Last year my friendships with people changed dramatically, some for the better, but a couple for the worse. I met a great deal of new people freshman year but because of that my connections with a few close friends disintegrated. This year I’m questioning who the people are I’m going to acquire a stronger friendship with and who will end up not being as close to me as I had hoped. Will my closest friends stay as close to me as I expect? Or will I become best friends with the new people I have met and will meet?

I’m curious about my future. I have always wanted to know what my purpose in life is, and what is going to happen in my life. I used to play M.A.S.H. with my friends and I knew it wasn’t true and it was just for fun, but then it got me thinking what is my life going to be like? Where am I going to go to college? What am I going to major in? What am I going to do for a living? It would make life a lot easier if you knew what tomorrow was going to be like. Then I wouldn’t have to worry about anything or guess. I would also know whether I was going to succeed or fail, which would save a lot of emotional damage, because I would know the outcome. Of course I would never learn anything because I would never try anything I would fail at. The problem is I can never truly know what my future holds, so I will always be curious about what is going to happen next. But I think, in the end, it’s a trust factor. God doesn’t tell us what our future holds because he wants us to trust Him and believe that He’ll carry us through till the very end.

I am curios about space because I really want to know if there is other life in the universe than us. If they are technologically advanced or primitive to us. I also wonder if black holes are really strong enough to such in light. When is take in the debris, where does that debris go? I wonder if man-kind will ever be able to get out of the atmosphere easily and travel past the orbit of Pluto and find interesting new planets. I also wonder if the creation of the moon actually sustained life and no other planets would be able to support life because of the planet to moon ratio. That is why I am curios about space.

What I am Curious About

The one thing I am most curious about is motorized vehicles like cars. All types of cars I find interesting, but the ones that really catch my eye are the elderly vehicles. Here is a question that has been bugging me for a really long time. Say that you are driving around a town in a standard car, and you have to stop on a steep hill for a red light. But while looking out of your mirror you see that a car has pulled up extremely close behind you. When the light turned green you let out the clutch to put the vehicle into first gear and you roll backwards into the car that was parked to close behind you. If this were to happen would the vehicle that was to close behind you be at fault or would the person in the standard vehicle? I think that the car behind you should be at fault but I don’t know so that’s why I am curious.
How do all the parts contribute to the vehicles operation? Why can’t we come up with a cheaper more efficient fuel or fueling system?

That’s all.

I am curious about the sports controversy in the year 2007. Many major issues came about in the year of 2007 but mostly in the summer of this year. I am curious about why Barry Bonds should be able to have the new home run record when there is much evidence of him using performance enhancing drugs and human growth hormone. If he test positive for performance enhancing drugs, what should be done with the new record? Will the record be given back to Henry Aaron? Also will Barry Bonds be prosecuted for lying to a federal court? There are so many issues with this new controversial record and I am curious to see what happens in the next year.

I am curious about how humans really were created. This has always been something that I have wondered if it was evolution or creation or maybe ever a little of both. I have always been taught that God created all of us and he made us the way he wanted us to be but there are always people that argue creationism with evolution and usually have some type of evidence to try to support it. That always leaves me wondering if maybe evolution is real and also humans seem to adapt to life when there are hardships or tragedy’s in there world which is just like what evolution pretty much is adapting and evolving to the environment around you and how to survive in that area. It may even be that it is both that God created us gave us life but we adapted and evolved into what we are now and what we will be in the future. I still don’t know really how humans were created but for now I can only guess until one or the other is proved.

What I have been curios about for the good majority of my life is Physiology which is the study of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions of living organisms. I have always been fascinated on how the human body works. Why it does the things that it does. Also how it does it, as well as all the systems of the body and how they work to keep our body in homeostasis. I have always wanted to become a doctor or a surgeon and to become one I need to know these two subjects as best as I can.

One of the things that I am curious about is flying. Flying for airliners is a good paying fun job. International flying would be fun, go and see places for a day and then come home. Plus you can only fly so much because of the radiation you get at that altitude. So after so many hours a year you have the rest of that time off and can still get paid. The benefits are pretty good for your family. Your family fly’s free with that airline with most company’s. you automatically get 3 weeks vacation, and you get to meet interesting people.

I am curious about why people do stupid (or more politically correct less smart) things. I think it might be because they don’t think about what they are doing before they do it. Why doesn’t a student turn his/her homework in why did Hitler want to take over the world? Why did Osama Bin Laden kill his own people? Is/was it because of a chemical imbalance or a lack of morals which actually brings me to another thing I am curious about even though I believe in god what drives people so strongly to try and disprove something so real can they deny his awesome power in their lives I can see no reason for people to be offended by someone saying “god bless you” after they sneeze or trying to take “under god” out of the Pledge of Allegiance. That second one really gets me because this country was formed under the Idea of freedom of beliefs but it was also using Religious ideas. If it were not for those ideas this democracy might have had different laws and a different constitution.

Something I am curious about is how people who are already perfectly self-sufficient feel the need to strive for more material things (like money, clothes, cars) while taking everything they have for granted, whereas people who are starving and living on a dollar a day are simply thankful for what they have and do their best to help one another. I think it’s pretty pathetic how some people (like the Enron managers), who have plenty of money to last them already, try to steal or cheat more money out of others. And then you have people from Mozambique or Sudan, who bond as communities and do their best to support everyone by giving what they have.
One of the college students from our church went on a mission trip to Mozambique over the past summer, and she shared the memories of her experience with us at a service one morning. She told us how AIDS and malaria are common fatal diseases amongst the people of Mozambique, and choked up as she was talking because malaria is curable here in the U.S. She witnessed a man die standing right next to her from malaria, saw how harshly the people of the village suffered. And yet they all retained smiles and were thankful for their little mud huts, their worn-out clothes, their families, and the missionaries. I think that is so inspirational, but it is so hard to comprehend…

I am curiouse about how the new age of cars work. I know the basics of how the standard combustion engine works, but with all of the technology that we have developed there are so many more things to learn about. So how do they incorperate all of the computers that they use. How do you change the amount of power that is distributed between front and back. This is what I am curiouse about.

I am curious about the future. What will happen to the world because of all the polution that is going on? That is what scares me the most. Is the world really going to come to end eventually? And if so, when? Not only am I curious about the future of the world, but also what my future holds for me? There are so many question that i would like to be answered about that. But i know that I know that i am just going to have to live my life to the fullest and take every day and challenge as is comes
